Philip is a shy and dignified man, an accountant and a teacher of English. He lives in the same house as his mother and his two brothers. The only money coming in is what he and his mother earn, and it barely covers them. His younger brother does not work, having made a kind of principle out of idleness. His older brother Kimon dreams of being elected prefect again. Although he is a qualified accountant he thinks the jobs offered him beneath him and refuses them. Then word comes that they will have to leave the house, and things tighten further. The film tells this within the Greek comic tradition of the sixties. The story is adapted from a play by Sakellarios and Christos Giannakopoulos, and Alekos Sakellarios directed this hundred and three minute film of 1967.
