What You Changed My Life Is About
Cathy Garcia-Sampana's 2009 Filipino film continues the relationship begun in an earlier film. Laida has been promoted and Miggy is rising in the family company. Their working hours no longer meet. The film is not about a relationship beginning but about keeping one going; the narrative puts the difference in class and the pressure of work at the front. John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo lead, one of the most watched pairings of the period. The tone is light and the close reconciling. Who it's for: those who like Filipino romantic comedy. Who it's not for: viewers who have not seen the first film; the narrative assumes it.
