Çarıklı Milyoner

Bayram makes his living playing the drum in his village and asks for nothing more. When the wealthy businessman Hilmi Tok, whom he did not know was his father, is killed in a car accident, the whole estate comes to him. Overnight Bayram becomes one of the richest men in the city, and nothing about how he behaves, dresses or speaks changes. A newspaper begins running pieces mocking him, and Bayram falls for Suna, the journalist writing them, without knowing who she is. One of the most repeated shapes in the Kemal Sunal films works here as well: the man from the village does not know the rules of the city, but the people who do know them turn out to be less honest than he is. Kartal Tibet builds the humour on class difference; money does not change Bayram, it exposes everyone around him. Ali Şen and Reha Yurdakul are in the cast. It is one of the better-liked examples of the inheritance story that Yeşilçam comedies of the eighties returned to often.
