What Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars Is About
While Nobita, Gian, Shizuka and Suneo are busy shooting their own space movie, the president of a planet the size of a palm crash-lands on Earth. There has been a coup at home, a dictatorship has taken over, and he needs somewhere to hide. Using Doraemon's gadgets the children shrink themselves, travel to his world and find themselves inside a revolution fought at toy scale. Tsutomu Shibayama's 1985 Doraemon film is one of the series classics. The play with scale, a war that looks enormous but is happening on a tabletop, is both the joke and the idea. It is a children's film that talks about dictatorship without softening the word.
