What Let's Make a Dream Is About
A man who has just been unfaithful comes home at dawn, confused and needing to talk. The person he finds in the house is his wife’s lover, and not knowing it, he confesses the affair to exactly the wrong man. Sacha Guitry adapted this from his own play of 1916, which runs on a single set with three people: the husband, the wife and the lover. Guitry has no anxiety about letting cinema stay close to theatre, and he keeps all the power in the dialogue. He plays the lover himself, his then wife Jacqueline Delubac plays the woman, and Raimu appears alongside them.
