Sylvia West is a writer. She is respected by those around her. Her fiancé Frederick Summers is a wealthy man. There is a question in his mind, though. He does not know her past. To find out he hires an investigator. The man’s name is Alan Maklin. Maklin sets to work and follows the traces. He goes from city to city talking to people. What comes out is heavier than he expected. Her life before she became a writer was another life entirely. Maklin does not know what to do with what he learns. The film is adapted from a novel. Carroll Baker and George Maharis appear in the hundred and fifteen minute film, an American production Gordon Douglas finished in 1965.
