What Tears Were Falling Is About
Pavel Ivanovich Vasin was a good man: a good husband, a good father, a good worker. Then a splinter from an evil magician's mirror gets into his eye and the world starts looking entirely different to him. He wounds everyone at home and at work; in every person he sees an enemy, a swindler, a thief. Anger and suspicion take over everything. In the end, convinced that evil will never be got rid of, he weeps bitterly, and the splinter goes out with the tears. Georgiy Daneliya takes the setup of a fairy tale and sets it straight into Soviet daily life in the eighties. Yevgeny Leonov plays the lead.
