The Last Bullet

The film continues a story begun in With Clean Hands in 1972. Commissioner Miclovan was killed in action, and his last cartridge is still in Commissioner Roman’s pocket. Roman is now without his support and is after the man who killed his friend. That man is Semaca, a powerful smuggler acquitted for lack of evidence. But before Roman gets to him, he is given a new assignment. This time he will work undercover, to catch a German agent still active in the country. The agent is thought to be hiding in a monastery. Roman has a helper named Oarca, a man who turns out to be good at everything. The hundred minutes are divided between the two cases. Sergiu Nicolaescu both directed and acted in the Romanian film, completed in 1973.
