The Life of Jimmy Dolan

Jimmy Dolan is a champion boxer. In public he has built himself a clean and exemplary image. Behind the scenes he is a drinker and a womaniser. At a party, drunk, he is confronted by a reporter. The man threatens to expose his hypocrisy. Dolan hits him and the reporter dies. He did not mean to kill him, but it is done. The boxer panics and skips town. On the road he arrives at a farm. The farm is run as a home for disabled children. A kindhearted woman named Peggy keeps the place going. Dolan starts staying there. The days he spends with the children and with Peggy change him. The cynical man softens little by little. What he left behind, though, is not closed. Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Loretta Young appear in the eighty eight minute film, an American production Archie Mayo finished in 1933.
