Un Quijote sin mancha

There is a neighbourhood lawyer who does not work for money. Anyone in trouble comes to him: the man who cannot make rent, the one who has been sacked, the one being held at the station. He takes all of their cases, charges none of them and pays out of his own pocket. His good intentions mostly make things worse, and every courtroom he walks into ends in uproar. But he keeps at it, because he genuinely believes justice is supposed to work for everybody. Miguel M. Delgado directs the Mexican comedy, with Cantinflas as the lawyer; a hundred minutes. For thirty years Cantinflas played the same man: poor, talkative, and beating his opponents by tangling words until nobody can follow. The title is a nod to Don Quixote.
