What Digimon Adventure tri. Part 5: Coexistence Is About
Keitaro Motonaga's 2017 anime is the fifth part of the Digimon Adventure tri. series. Having witnessed Meiko being hurt, Meicoomon goes out of control and crosses into the real world, whose fabric begins to distort, and the children have to decide which side they are on. In this part the group splits properly for the first time: some argue that Meicoomon must be stopped, others want to save her, and Meiko's responsibility becomes a matter of dispute. The film moves away from the series' tone for young viewers and concentrates on trust and betrayal. The action is limited and the story is built largely on conversation. Who it's for: people following the Digimon series. Who it's not for: anyone new to it; the film assumes you know all the earlier parts.
