Doraemon: Nobita and the Birth of Japan

Nobita decides to run away from home but cannot find anywhere to go; every place in the world already has an owner. Doraemon comes up with a solution: they go seventy thousand years back, to a Japan where nobody lives yet. There they found a country of their own. Then a boy from that era, Kukuru, falls into the present through a fault in the flow of time. The boy's tribe has been taken over by a shaman called Gigazombie. The source is Fujiko F. Fujio's Doraemon manga. This is one of the series' feature films, and those yearly films were watched by generation after generation in Japan. Tsutomu Shibayama directed. A hundred minutes. The mould is adventure, but its subject is the question of having a place: the children want to build a world of their own, and the moment they build it they have to defend it. The film also draws on a popular curiosity about Japan's prehistory.
