Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan was named best actor at the 71st National Film Awards for Jawan. The state bulletin issued after the presidential ceremony writes that the hall broke into applause when his name was announced and that the performance joined scale, charisma and emotional depth; the bulletin says the part demanded both show and subtlety, and that Khan carried the film with a commanding presence. He shared the award with Vikrant Massey, for a performance in another film. Thirty-eight films are listed for him, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, My Name Is Khan and Kal Ho Naa Ho rank at the top by vote. He took the Filmfare for best actor eight times, the first in 1994 with Baazigar and the last in 2011 with My Name Is Khan.
